Data handling
- MagicGPT processes information only to complete the requested task.
- Conversations are not monitored by humans in real time.
- Data is handled according to Magic’s internal security and privacy standards.
What assistants should never share
- Login credentials or passwords
- Financial details (credit cards, bank accounts)
- Highly sensitive personal data unless explicitly required and approved
What MagicGPT Sees
MagicGPT only has access to information that is explicitly provided during use, including:
- The text you type into the chat
- Files you intentionally upload
- Page content or screenshots you choose to attach for context
- Information required to complete the specific task you request
MagicGPT does not passively observe your work or monitor your activity outside of what you explicitly share.
Best Practices for Safe Use
To use MagicGPT safely and effectively:
✅ Share only what is necessary to complete the task
✅ Restate important context when starting a new chat or task
✅ Treat MagicGPT as a professional productivity tool, not a storage system
🚫 Never enter passwords, financial details, or credentials
🚫 Do not assume MagicGPT remembers prior conversations unless explicitly stated
When in doubt, err on the side of caution and keep sensitive information out of prompts.
What MagicGPT Does Not Store
To protect assistant and client privacy, MagicGPT does not store:
- Passwords, login credentials, or authentication codes
- Credit card numbers, bank account details, or financial credentials
- Government IDs or highly sensitive personal data
- One‑off task details or temporary context by default
- Full chat histories as long‑term memory
Only limited, intentional preferences (e.g., recurring instructions) may be saved to improve future assistance, and sensitive data is never retained.
Sheet Sharing & Privacy (Google Sheets)
This section explains how spreadsheets generated via MagicGPT are shared and what assistants should expect when using the Sheets feature.
🔍 How Sheet Sharing Works
When MagicGPT generates a Google Sheet:
- The Sheet is created under a Magic‑managed environment
- By default, generated Sheets may be auto‑shared with specific Magic internal stakeholders (e.g., product or leadership teams) for:
- Quality assurance
- Product improvement
- Debugging and support
This sharing is not for monitoring individual assistants, but to ensure the tool functions correctly and safely.
