San Francisco, California – August 18, 2021 – Magic, Inc. has been named the silver winner in the Enterprise Service category in Best in Biz Awards 2021 International, the only independent global business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications from around the world.
Magic was recognized for its innovations in virtual hiring, through its Dedicated Assistants service. The service was tested within a limited client base from November 2020 until March 2021, whereupon it was formally launched to the public. Magic Dedicated Assistants significantly reduces the time and money businesses need to spend in order to tap additional workers for their teams, allowing them to scale faster. This has been especially valuable to the many micro- and small businesses founded and registered during the global COVID pandemic.
“To say that the way people work has changed since the start of the pandemic would be an understatement, but Magic was built on the idea of changing how people get work done,” says Aaron Kemmer, CEO of Magic.
“We’ve won this award because of how quickly we can find businesses top-tier talent for their companies — less than 48 hours — from executive assistants, to sales development reps and customer support specialists in the Philippines.
We’re proud to say that, in the last twelve months, we’ve cut our prices in half, while at the same time we’ve increased our pay to assistants. With Magic more accessible than ever, we’ve been able to help more and more companies go remote-first and truly global.”
Magic hopes to help other businesses embrace changes in work through the Dedicated Assistants service, which matches them with remote assistants based on their needs. Magic maintains a roster of pre-screened assistant candidates, with various specializations including admin support, customer service, sales, marketing, and design. When businesses look for an assistant, Magic matches them with the right one from the roster, cutting down on time spent sourcing and screening.
Dedicated Assistants work anywhere from 10 to 40 hours per week, billed weekly. This allows businesses to adjust their assistants’ hours quickly and flexibly, ensuring they have the support they need, when they need it. It’s a simple, scalable solution designed to help businesses thrive amid the increasingly hybrid nature of work.
With the continuing and unprecedented ramifications of the COVID-19 global pandemic, 2021 continued to be a year of challenges and obstacles for many industries and companies. Nonetheless, this year, as every year, Best in Biz Awards upholds the same strict standards of scoring to achieve the same unparallelled quality of winning entries. As a result, once again, fewer winners were selected across all categories, making this year’s winners’ achievements all the more laudable.
Winners in the 9th annual program were determined based on scoring from an independent panel of judges hailing from a wide spectrum of top-tier publications and media outlets from 10 countries. Each year, only editors, writers and contributors to business, consumer, financial, trade and technology publications, as well as broadcast outlets and analyst firms, serve as judges in Best in Biz Awards. The program’s uniqueness stems, in part, from this distinct composition of its judging panels, enabling it to best leverage the judges’ unparalleled expertise, experience and objectivity to determine award winners.
This year’s judging panel included writers and contributors to such publications as Bloomberg News, Data Breach Today, HTMAG (Israel), Huffington Post, NDR (Germany), Panorama Magazine (United Arab Emirates), Small Business IT (Canada), TechRadar (UK), as well as other outlets from Brazil, Canada, India, United Kingdom and more.
Best in Biz Awards 2021 International honors were presented in a range of categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Customer Service Department of the Year, Operations Department of the Year, Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Most Innovative Product and Crisis Response of the Year.
