From Business Development to Leadership
I started in November of 2022 as a Business Development Manager. In January of 2023 Leadership gave me the opportunity to lead a group of people from all over Latin America and build a team of greatness. As of now I lead the whole Inbound team for Magic. What has been the key? I follow the 4 pillars of Remote Empathy: Vulnerability, Respect, Empathy and Competition. Engraving these pillars on each of individual in the company has made a great impact in my career here at Magic.
I have always worked in start ups. Start ups are constant when it comes to solving problems, being creating and innovating. I decided to work for Magic not just because of the challenge but also because of the purpose. It is nice to know that we are not only providing a service but actually we are providing a service with purpose, connecting people to help other people grow their businesses is a great purpose.
The biggest role Magic played on my success was constant coaching, listening to my ideas and understanding my challenges. When you have an open culture in which everyone is there to help you grow, it becomes a part of you to keep improving not just for the people around you but for Magic.
Inspiring Success
To be honest, everyday is my proudest moment her at magic, why? Well because everyday I get to work with a group of people that share the same values and purpose as myself and that have trusted me to be their leader and build them for greatness. I am the proudest when I get to help them not just in their professional life but also in their personal lives. Like I always say, If you are good in your personal life, you will succeed in your professional life, that is why its so important to be vulnerable and have a space in which people can trust you with their problems.
My Leader has been supportive on my leadership style, He understands that I lead with empathy but also accountability. He has supported me in teaching me new ways to keep people motivated, engaged and plowing. I for sure know that in the last 7 months I have become a better leader here at Magic.
I enjoy the people the most in my role. Having to lead many people from around the world with different personalities and different goals keeps me motivated and on my feet. My purpose here is to make them grow and make them understand their WHY.
Remote bliss: where work, life, and furry friends come together
Here at Magic its very simple, We understand that life happens and sometimes we got to do things. Having the ability to work remote, go to a doctors appointment or walking my dog has made it easier for me to give my best for Magic. It makes me feel part of a well balanced culture in which we respect each other and peoples lives. In the picture you can see Remi, he is a 7 year old Weimaraner and although he cant talk he is the emotional support dog for my team. Where else can a remote team feel connected with a dog and make them happy? haha.
Of course always being accountable!
I come from a diverse background so having the ability to work one day from my home in Guatemala and the next day in Barranquilla or Panama has made my life much better and in a way healthier. As I write this, I am writing it from the streats of Madrid, Does it get better than this when balancing my work and life? NOPE!
